Masha and the Bear

Throughout the series, Bear’s plans – from courting a female bear in spring and going fishing, to teaching Masha ice‑skating, building a school desk and awaiting his carrot harvest – are continually thwarted by Masha’s meddling, which includes a magic goldfish and a misused mobile phone. Her relentless antics turn each simple task into a chaotic adventure.

The show is a short programme made up of a handful of episodes – “Springtime for Bear”, “Gone Fishing” and “Call Me…”. It is classified as an episode‑type series, with each instalment focusing on the Bear’s everyday adventures and his interactions with the mischievous girl, Masha. When spring arrives, the Bear meets a female bear and promptly asks her out, only for Masha to intervene and spoil his plans. Later, the Bear sets off to fish, but Masha soon appears, turning a peaceful outing into a chaotic ordeal before she manages to catch a magical goldfish. After the Bear gives Masha a mobile phone for her woodland wanderings, she begins to misuse it, putting her own safety in jeopardy. Impatient for ice‑skating, Masha drags a sleeping Bear outside, forcing him to teach her the sport. As September rolls in, Masha, like any child, wants to start school and asks the Bear to build her a desk. Meanwhile, the Bear waits patiently to harvest carrots, a task that also draws the hungry hare. When Masha suggests a game of hide‑and‑seek, the Bear initially has other ideas but ultimately concedes, recognising that he cannot simply ignore her wishes.
