Following the murder of an affluent couple, Al and Carrie pose as husband and wife to lure the killer out of hiding, and the ruse awakens old feelings between the former lovers. Al believes the case is linked to a series of homicides he tried to solve years earlier in Queens. Back then, the manhunt petered out when the trail of evidence went cold, and Eliot isn't sure there's much to investigate now either, so he gives the detectives just 48 hours to come up with answers
