The chefs face their most difficult challenges yet in the quarter-final

The winners of this week's heat return for the quarter-final, beginning with an invention test, in which the judges throw out a twist at the chefs. Using a well stocked larder, the competitors have 70 minutes to create a plate full of contrasting textures. In a final bid for a place in the semi-final the chefs try to impress food critics Leyla Kazim, William Sitwell and Grace Dent with two courses of their own creation rustled up in just 75 minutes
