About This Program

The show is an episode from the series Self‑Made Hero, listed under the Once in a Year collection and the broader The Puzzling… umbrella. It is presented as a stand‑alone programme rather than a full series, and the format is that of a single episode. In this instalment Masha decides to take on the role of a superhero. She rushes into various escapades, but the forest animals end up laughing at her homemade costume and her naïve wish to rescue them. Meanwhile the Bear celebrates his birthday; all the creatures gather to wish him well and bring presents. The Bear has taken up a keen interest in collecting puzzle pictures, and at the same time Masha becomes absorbed in stories about the detective Sherlock Holmes. When his little cousin Panda arrives, a rivalry with Masha erupts into a bout of dancing fever. The Bear then constructs a tennis court hoping to impress a female Bear who enjoys the sport, but the plan is foiled by a Himalayan bear, prompting Masha to step in and salvage the situation. He later has to devise a real‑time machine to discover what his ancestor might have looked like. As Masha uncovers several new talents, the Bear finally purchases a long‑awaited television. The episode closes with Masha playing fairy‑godmother, gathering everyone together for a Harvest Festival.
