The programme is a collection of six short episodes – “The Bravest Bird”, “Woolly in the Wind”, “The King of Pontypandy”, “Mountain Cat”, “Over the Ledge” and “Back to the Stone Age”. Each instalment presents a self‑contained story centred on the everyday adventures and mishaps of the Pontypandy community. In “The Bravest Bird”, Hannah launches a scare‑crow business, yet one daring little bird refuses to be frightened. “Woolly in the Wind” follows Joe, Peter and Mike as they climb a mountain without coats; a sudden change in weather leaves Mike hurt. “The King of Pontypandy” sees Professor Pickles tell Norman and Peter about a local monarch, prompting Norman to hunt for the crown with a metal detector. “Mountain Cat” has Miss Pawdry secretly joining a Pioneer camping trip, only to lead the group deep into the forest where they become lost. In “Over the Ledge”, Peter breaks his promise and lets Nipper off his lead; the dog bolts away and Peter accidentally scares him over a cliff. Finally, “Back to the Stone Age” depicts a rivalry between Norman and Derek as they each try to build the best stone‑age shelter, a competition that escalates into a fire on Pontypandy Island. These episodes weave together themes of curiosity, responsibility and unintended consequences.
